BB-8 Interactive Droid – Early Custom Build

Before the formation of BB-8 builder groups, Craig Tinder developed this fully functional BB-8 droid from the ground up. Equipped with motion sensors, internal speakers, LED lighting, and a rotating head mechanism, the droid responded to nearby movement and played pre-programmed audio. Custom-designed decals, combined with layered weathering techniques, gave the droid an authentic, well-traveled appearance. Powered by an external battery pack, this BB-8 was built for mobility and interaction—ready to greet visitors across the galaxy.
