HP Easy Select Control Panel – UX Design & Product Development
Project type
HP - User Interface Design
Craig Tinder led UX design initiatives for HP’s first color touchscreen interface—the award-winning Easy Select Control Panel—deployed across 10 product lines and over 150 product releases. With more than 1,200 hours of usability testing conducted across North America, Europe, and Asia, Craig studied user behavior across diverse cultures to ensure cross-market adoption. This research informed a highly tuned understanding of global design systems, multicultural user expectations, and how visual communication varies across audiences—insights that continue to influence his approach to accessible, intuitive design.
The resulting journey maps and interactive prototypes reduced user errors by 40%, simplifying a historically complex interface. Craig later transitioned into a Product Manager role within HP’s Imaging and Printing Division, supporting light production graphic arts printers and gaining deep technical knowledge of fine art reproduction, professional printing workflows, and color-critical design implementation.
