Environmental Retail Design – Aces In Action Historical Gallery
Project type
Environmental Design (Retail) and Fabrication
Craig Tinder transformed a dated retail space on Orlando’s International Drive into a dynamic, museum-inspired gallery showcasing one of the largest collections of relic artwork in the U.S. To maximize wall space and stay within budget, he installed faux brick panels finished with a German Schmear technique to brighten the space and add architectural authenticity. Seam lines were cleverly concealed using custom-fabricated industrial I-beams designed to resemble structural steel.
To further optimize the space, Craig developed a wire-suspension system that allowed artwork to be layered in two rows—enabling close-up viewing without overcrowding. Historic artifacts were displayed in custom-built cases matching the gallery’s industrial aesthetic, including a fully restored 1940s motorcycle as a front-of-house centerpiece. Combining environmental signage, strategic traffic flow, and immersive storytelling, the gallery stands as a unique cultural destination in Orlando’s "City Beautiful."
