These pioneering user interface designs, created by Craig Tinder, marked a first in the Smart Grid and energy sectors. Built around the IEEE Zigbee Protocol Standard, the designs empowered residential consumers to monitor and manage Smart Home devices for energy conservation and cost reduction. Features included dynamic usage dashboards, smart email alerts, and time-of-use notifications—encouraging behavior shifts during peak demand to prevent grid strain.
